DIRECTIONS:

We’re in the northern Catskill Mountains, bordering the Hudson River Valley, 2-1/2 hours from Manhattan, one hour from Albany, or one hour from Kingston.

We find that GPS directions can often take you ways we’d never dream of suggesting to you!

Here are my best directions: Get yourself to the blinking red light at the junction of Rt. 145 and Rt. 81 (Cooksburgh). Look for our sign. Go west one mile into the hamlet of Potter Hollow (on the extension of Rt. 81). In the hamlet, take the right fork at the Cotter Equestrian Center on to Scott Patent Road (Rt. 362). Our second sign is there. Go just over 3 miles, mostly uphill. Our yellow farmhouse is on the right. Parking lot on the left. As you travel up Scott Patent Road, the name of the road changes to Broome Center Road (Rt. 61), but it is not an intersection, just a county line. We are at 989 Broome Center Road. Yellow farm house. You found us! Welcome!

If you are driving from the north, your GPS will often tell you to turn off Rt. 145 onto Stone Store Road.  Take my advice, don’t do it! The GPS will lead you onto very rough seasonal roads that way.

Instead, continue south on Rt. 145, going through the village of Preston Hollow and coming to the intersection of Rt. 81.  Turn right there. Proceed as above … Go one mile into the hamlet of Potter Hollow (on the extension of Rt. 81). In the hamlet, take the right fork at the Cotter Equestrian Center on to Scott Patent Road (Rt. 362). Our second sign is there. Go just over 3 miles, mostly uphill. Our yellow farmhouse is on the right. Parking lot on the left.
