We are great llama fans! They guard our sheep. They are curious and fearless. If a coyote, fox or dog get through tde electric fence, the sheep will run away from it. The llamas run towards it, which really freaks out the predator. Predators are used to following a flock and picking off the slowest. Now they have 500 pound animal that trying to stomp them to death. Ruins their whole game.
Cabellera and Cinquenta, the wise older females usually guard the ewes, while Gead and Rua, the younger and more spirited males, are with the yearlings or lambs when they are weaned from their mothers. They all get to hang out together in the winter when the flock is all together.
